Sophie,
that would be fantastic!
Do you happen to know if LW is looking to have that album officially released?
Is the band writing/recording again?
Perhaps Steel Cage Records (Label of Carbon 14 magazine) would be interested.
I know they released an ADZ album a few years back.
If I recall, the last LW album (which I had a taped dub of) was some of the band's best work ,up there with 'Take Out The Trash.'
Which is their benchmark record in my opinion. It should have a proper release if you ask me.
My email is electricwarrior70@yahoo.com
Hope you had a good holiday.
Steven Bracamonte - Tuesday, December 20th, 2005 12:29 PM GMT

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

In honor of Kat's birthday (which is today) I have posted a video clip of Legal Weapon performing on New Wave Theatre, circa 1983...I hope it brings back some memories...and those of you who haven't seen the band perform can get some idea of how it was. The video appears to the right of the menu at the end of the "Keeping the Faith" article (Pg.3) at http://www.pacificwebjournal.net/ . Happy Birthday, Kitty! How about a comeback next year?
Sophie - Sunday, December 4th, 2005 1:13 AM GMT
Ben Brower, this is Brian's wife. Brian said he thinks he has an extra copy of that CD. Give us your email address and I'll do my best to see that he gets it out you. Brian and his band Rockerbox are in Saint George, Utah right now getting ready to play. I'll ask him about the CD when he gets back in town.

Eric - Saturday, November 26th, 2005 4:49 PM GMT
I've been reading Carbon 14 for years,so the reviewers names/styles etc. are familiar to me.Ben, drop me an email off list.
Ben Brower - Friday, November 25th, 2005 8:34 PM GMT
How'd you know I was a sometime scribe for Carbon 14??! I didn't know anybody actually read me! I'm mostly a record review guy for them, although I did do a Lazy Cowgirls/Patt Todd interview for em' way back when. I was never asked to do another one, perhaps it sucked, I dunno.
But yeah, I'll totally put the idea to Leslie the next time I talk to her.
Now, about that last LW cd..If anybody's sellin', I'm buyin!
Eric - Thursday, November 24th, 2005 7:09 PM GMT
Ben, maybe you can talk the Carbon 14 braintrust into doing a feature/interview with Legal Weapon, I suspect it would fit the format of the zine very well.:),I'm sure a couple of people around here could be of some assistance.
Eric - Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005 1:45 AM GMT
This site has a ton of great kate 70s and 80s Punk Rock flyers, including a couple of Legal Weapon ones.

Holy Crap! LW is still here!
I've got to get a hold of that last self titled record with Bitch Bitch on it.
Mad Dog sent me a cassette dub of it years ago after I saw her at a Leaving Trains show here in Philadelphia. I wore out the tape!
Take Out the Trash is in my top 10 favorite albums of all time. And the songs on that dearly departed cassette are very close behind it.
Who put that cd out?
and where can I get my mitts on a copy?
steven Bracamonte - Thursday, November 17th, 2005 12:44 PM GMT
Happy Thanksgiving to all weapon fans and to my good friends Kat,Brian,Eddie,Adam,Annie,Susan,Karl, and Charlie take care all

Eric-- Yes, No Mag was indeed an L.A. publication. Not much online about it, but there is an archive of No Mag covers and a short interview with editor Bruce Kalberg at www.rockcitynews.com/archives/nomag/nomag1.html . Also, a cool link, if you haven't seen it already, is www.recordcollectorsoftheworldunite.com/artists/legalweapon/legalweapon.html . This site has an extensive discography of Legal Weapon LPs, CDs, cassettes, and rare promo 12" singles... very nice photos of everything LW has ever released (except the 2002 CD). There's stuff on that site I haven't seen in years.

Used to share a house with Kat & Brian during the recording of Life Sentence and I remember those being really trying times for the band as they were being pulled in a direction they didn't really want to go. Just streamed some of their later releases and it makes me smile to know they got back on track and created some great music They could be proud of. If anybody knows when they'll be playing in NYC anytime in the future please contact me.
Thanks,
Stephen Gaard

Just added at http://www.pacificwebjournal.net/ ...the no holds barred 1983 No Mag interview of Kat Arthur... where she discusses: Dead guy in a pickup truck! Automobile thievery! Fiddling with the dead! Penis envy! Serial killers! Graveside rituals! Everything you expect in a No Mag interview. See the menu of links at the end of the "Keeping the Faith" article.

Info- Brian's AZ band 'Rockerbox' is doing more recording for their album. I'll have another sample to post soon.
Question- Anyone have a URL/link to a website for Adam Maples' current band?
Susan - Tuesday, September 13th, 2005 3:21 PM GMT
Karl - If you get a copy, I would love one from that show...I was there as well and LW and the Circle Jerks ROCKED!
Karl - Friday, September 9th, 2005 7:52 AM GMT
If you can make a cassette or CD-R of that, I'd definately be interested in getting a copy. Contact me at karlwentzel@hotmail.com
David - Friday, September 9th, 2005 1:56 AM GMT
I made a digital tape of the 1983 LW gig at the Channel in Boston that was referred to in the interview on Karl's site. I probably have Gang Green/Circle Jerks from that occasion on the same tape too, but I always liked LW best. A digital recording from those days is a real rarity. I took the feed right off the board, and as I recall it captures every ounce of the energy of that night -- or was it daytime?? An "all-ages" show if I remember right. I'm not sure this PCM-F1 tape is still playable, but I may have an analog cassette dupe somewhere. This is making me want to dig through my old stuff and find it.

Hello fellow weapon Fans its been a while since ive left a message on the 4th of july took my son to See social Distortion hes 11 who would of thought i would be taking my son to a punk show Legal weapons your weapon is the best lp next to Death of innocense
Susan Priore - Wednesday, August 31st, 2005 1:36 PM GMT
Came across this review while surfing:
9/17/82
Middle Class, Legal Weapon, Lucky Strike, Din
Galaxy Roller Rink, Fullerton
$6
I only heard the last two songs of Din's set, I got there late. Din played atonal punk with a saxophone, they sounded a little bit like the 70's english punk band "The Fall".
Lucky Strike was Mike Soto's post-Adolescents band. The band was really young, a couple of them looked like they were about fifteen, but they could grind out spirited, angry punk none the less.
Legal Weapon put on the best show of the evening. Lead singer Kate Aurthur was a great performer, she wrote some great songs, and had a voice that sounded like a cross between Poly Styrene and Grace Slick. Her back-up band were finely honed rock and roll professionals. Legal Weapon was so good, they seemed out of place at a dump like the Galaxy.
Middle Class put on another entertaining show, but they played basically the same set as the last time I saw them
Willy - Friday, August 12th, 2005 10:29 PM GMT
I have scanned and posted the entire Outcry fanzine that the Legal Weapon interview is taken from that is posted on this site. There's a great cover photo of Kat. It takes about a minute to load on a fast speed connection.

2nd session happened. I haven't gotten a copy of the output yet. When I do, I'll post a sample.
Rockerbox - Wednesday, August 10th, 2005 2:11 AM GMT
Charlie or Brian, did the second recording session for Rockerbox occur?
Karl - Saturday, July 30th, 2005 8:01 AM GMT
The picture in the discography is from the CD reissue. Triple X rereleased the first 4 albums on CD in 1991.
Ray - Thursday, July 28th, 2005 11:12 PM GMT
I was blown away to see a flyer on the site that I actually still have. It's the show with Tex and the Horseheads and the Red Devils. But also...my LP of Your Weapon looks different from the one in the discography. Mine is a one-color poster sleeve. Is mine an earlier pressing? Anyone know?
Nicole - Sunday, July 24th, 2005 5:14 AM GMT
hey, just noticed some of you were having trouble finding LW cd's and i thought i'd let you know Interpunk.com has Interior Hearts, No Sorrow, Take out the Trash, Your Weapon and a Shock/Silencers Split Cd all brand new and for about $12 each
Brew - Monday, July 11th, 2005 8:10 AM GMT
I was just listening to "Your Weapon" today full-blast in the car and it still kicks just as much ass as it did all those years ago. Hopefully someday the rest of the music world will wise up to that album's legacy.
Karl - Tuesday, June 14th, 2005 12:40 PM GMT
For those of you in the L.A. area, Former LW drummer Adam Maples is currently in the band Kingsizemaybe, and will be performing this Saturday night (June 18th) at Club Taix at 1911 W. Sunset Blvd in Hollywood. The band's website, which includes MP3s, is http://www.kingsizemaybe.com/

Karl - Tuesday, May 17th, 2005 12:05 PM GMT
Danny, Way to go! Other than Charlie (who runs this site), you are the first LW member to post on this messageboard! "Take Out the Trash" kicks some serious ass. I always thought it was one of the band's best efforts. My review of it is included in my LW article at http://www.pacificwebjournal.net/ . Karl...
Danny - Monday, May 16th, 2005 10:01 PM GMT

Karl, that would be absolutely amazing! I never had any idea it could be so difficult to find some of these lyrics. My e.mail is jrwilson@stetson.edu. Thanks!
Karl - Thursday, March 24th, 2005 10:44 AM GMT
Jen, the lyrics were printed on the large poster that was included with the original LP release of the YOUR WEAPON album in 1983. I think that's something of a collector's item by now. I could Email you the lyric as it appears on the poster. karlwentzel@hotmail.com
Jen - Tuesday, March 22nd, 2005 4:39 PM GMT
I'm doing my senior research on various lyrics, and was hoping to use Legal Weapon's Bleeders, but can't seem to find the lyrics online anywhere. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Susan - Wednesday, March 16th, 2005 8:32 PM GMT
Boy do those flyers take me back Karl!
Karl - Thursday, March 3rd, 2005 8:51 AM GMT
The latest addition at Pacific Web Journal is a gallery of vintage Legal Weapon show flyers... circa 1982-1985... see the menu at the end of "Keeping the Faith". http://www.pacificwebjournal.net/

Sorry about the miss spelling Thats you can read about it in Karls article I dont want you to think i took to many shots to the head
Steven Bracamonte - Friday, February 25th, 2005 11:50 AM GMT
Whats up people?A weapon Memory i just got done Listining to Daddys Gone mad and it brought back a memory of a Fenders show it was the wildes show probally there you cabn read about it in Karls Article keeping The Faith but Legal weapon was playing that song and the skinheads went nuts and started throwing Debri at Kat so she pointed them out and i jumped off stage and roughed THEM up a little you all know Skinheads dont fight one on one so i got my bumps and bruises but they got their share Thats all for Now.Those were the days Listining to kisk ass music and Kicking Ass.....
Karl - Sunday, February 20th, 2005 8:15 AM GMT
Tim, can you make a DVD of that? I just sent a DVD-R of that performance to Charlie, but the image quality of my recording is just so-so. Also, the beginning is missing. Do you have the entire NWT episode recorded? I think it would definately be cool to get the "Equalizer" performance posted online. Any NWT videos are quite a rarity. The scenes of people in goofy costumes chasing a chicken are typical New Wave Theatre-- I think it was stock footage from some sort of Mardi Gras ritual. If you can make a copy of it, contact me at karlwentzel@hotmail.com.
Tim - Sunday, February 20th, 2005 5:58 AM GMT
Man!
I was looking online, and couldn't believe there was actually a Legal Weapon site!
I have a video of the band doing "Equalizer" on New Wave Theater....and Kat has a Snake on the mic stand...but what was with wrining the chicken's necks? Peter Iver's must have been nuts.
Equalizer is one of my favorite songs of all time. I had forgotten about the videotape, and I was going through some stuff I had stored, and could not believe I still had it.
If I can get it transferred to mpg (the video, not just the sound) I'll submit it if the band wants it.
I need to mess with my camera though - I haven't tried the "Analog to Digital" conversion thing on it yet.
